It’s time to grab the clubs and hit the green. The Columbia men’s golf team will be competing in the Princeton Invitational this weekend. The Lions are coming off of a seventh-place finish at the Towson Invitational at the end of March. Junior Clark Granum was Columbia’s top finisher, in 21st place.

The last time the men’s golf team competed in the Princeton Invitational was last year, when they took fourth place. In 2008, the tournament was shortened to just 36 holes because of poor weather conditions. Granum was the Light Blue’s top finisher at fourth overall, shooting a 76-72-148. Granum will lead this year’s Lions in the 24th annual tournament, consisting of 54 holes on the par-71, 6,930-yard course. There will be 15 teams competing, including seven Ivy League teams, excluding Brown. Last year’s champ, Rutgers, will be returning, looking for a repeat.

The tournament starts at 8 a.m. in Princeton, N.J., at the Springdale Golf Club.
