Spyros Fliatouros, 18, was hit and killed by a downtown 1 train Monday morning at the 116th Street station, spokespeople from the NYPD said on Wednesday. The NYPD could not release the information about his identity until Wednesday due to pending family notification.

Several police officers and investigators on site on Monday said the incident was likely a suicide, and NYPD spokespeople have confirmed that there was no criminality involved. A spokesperson on Wednesday said the NYPD still cannot confirm officially whether or not it was a suicide.

Fliatouros lived on 72nd Street in Brooklyn, the NYPD said.
